Brave Caitlyn Jenner stunned the world when she revealed her gender transition on the front cover of Vanity Fair.

But according to reports, the former athlete and reality star is struggling with "constant pain" following a number of gruelling surgeries.

Caitlyn, 65, has undergone facial feminisation surgery, had breast implants, and has had her Adam's apple shaved.

A source told RadarOnline: "Caitlyn's in constant pain since she had all those operations. She's happy with how her transformation's going, but she's finding the surgery hell on her body."

They added she was "often complaining of pain" around her face and ears but was told by doctors to be patient about her recovery.

"She's currently taking painkillers until the work on her face and body settles in," the source said.

Caitlyn previously praised one of her surgeons, thanking them for the "great job" they did.

Meanwhile, the I Am Cait star has taken the steps to make her transition legal by filing new documents.

According to E! News, Caitlyn has asked a judge to recognise her as a woman and that means officially changing her name from William Bruce Jenner to Caitlyn Marie Jenner.

In the season finale for her E! reality show, Caitlyn held a renaming ceremony attended by her friends - but left out her children including Kendall and Kylie Jenner.

She said: "It has been an amazing journey, and I'm seeing all of it come true. I'm in a great place in life and, for the first time, I feel like I fit in some place. Being my authentic self. Thank you."
